**TIMMINS PUBLIC LIBRARY NEWS RELEASE**

The Timmins Public Library is pleased to announce the most recent addition to its ever-expanding collection: tabletop games. The library strives to meet the needs of the community by offering engaging material that patrons can enjoy not just at home, but also during their visit. Four games were selected with the help of the community. Suggestions from patrons, as well as results from social media polls based on what other libraries were carrying in their board game collections were used to help make the decision.

The collection currently includes:
Catan: the award-winning strategy game where players collect resources and use them to build roads, settlements and cities on their way to victory.

Clue: the popular murder mystery board game.

Exploding Kittens: the Russian-roulette style card game and most-funded game in Kickstarter history.

Ticket to Ride: the railway-themed adventure board game that takes players around North America.

All of the games purchased, with the exception of Catan, are designed for ages 8+, making them suitable for children, families, and adults alike.

The games are available for in-house use during library hours on a first-come, first-served basis. All one needs is a library card in good standing. Also available are our in-house games Scrabble, chess, checkers, as well as puzzles of varying complexity that public can enjoy during their visit. The library is proud to provide the public with a comfortable and cost-free environment that allows for the perfect venue for your next game night. Be sure to join us for weekly board game nights with the Timmins Board Game Group on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. starting August 1st, 2019!
