Turning lane possible for north end traffic lights

A new turning lane is being proposed for the set of traffic lights meeting four different streets.

Councillor Rick Dubeau says there are two northbound lanes going from Theriault Boulevard onto College Street.

College has a very brief merging lane before turning into one lane in the residential area.

Dubeau says it bottlenecks, and there are times drivers will use the right lane to move ahead of someone turning (or perhaps someone slower on the gas pedal).

He says the change makes sense, a sentiment echoed throughout council chambers.

Public Works will complete a report on this, and the item will come back at a future meeting.
