A couple separate incidents caught the eye of Timmins Police.

First, the Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a dispute which occurred on September 17th, 2016, in the entrance of a Mountjoy Street South business.

Police were called to an incident involving an agitated male acting suspiciously.

The male person was located by a Timmins Police officer a short while later.

While trying to interview the suspect, a dispute erupted and the suspect was eventually arrested by the Timmins Police.

Additionally, the accused was found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine tablets.

As a result, Nicholas Elijah ECHUM, 32, of Moose Factory, Ontario, has been charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • One count of Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused person remained in police custody awaiting a bail hearing at Provincial Court in Timmins, slated for yesterday morning.

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a dispute which occurred on August 19th, 2016, at a Elm Street South residence.

During the dispute, a suspect is alleged to have used an edge weapon to assault the victim and then fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The victim suffered injury to her arm that required medical attention at the Timmins and District Hospital.

The suspect has been identified, located, and arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Katie GOUDREAU, 26, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with:

  • One count of Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused person remained in police custody and had a bail hearing at Provincial Court in Timmins, yesterday morning.
