Timmins man allegedly assaulted with what is likely an edged weapon

Timmins Police were busy this morning, and responded to a call where a man in his late 30’s suffered a serious injury.

“The Timmins Police Service is investigating an incident where a 38 year old male resident of Timmins sustained an abdominal injury by means of an apparent edged weapon. The injured person received medical treatment at Timmins and District Hospital early this morning. He was alert and coherent but less than cooperative or forthcoming with pertinent details when interviewed by the police. While we strongly suspect an edged weapon was used, we have not determined that at this point.” -Said Timmins Police Corporate Communications Coordinator Marc Depatie.

“The incident was reported to us early this morning and we attended a Tim Horton’s initially, but the actual event resulting in injury occurred elsewhere.” Said Depatie

Once Police confirm the location and the weapon that was allegedly used, we will make another update.
