**FEDNOR NEWS RELEASE**

Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario — FedNor

The Bucket Shop is scaling-up operations and creating up to 40 highly-skilled jobs thanks to a Government of Canada investment of $2.1 million. This repayable FedNor contribution will enable the firm to find new ways to increase productivity and access new domestic and global markets.

The Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor.

This FedNor funding will be used to purchase new equipment and construct new maintenance and warehouse facilities, as well as establish a paint and abrasive blast shop. This investment will also help expand machining and line boring capacity and support research and development to assist the firm in developing its product lines.

“Our government is investing in Canadian firms to help them scale-up and become more competitive, here at home and around the world. Today’s announcement will allow The Bucket Shop to innovate, expand and increase exports to meet the growing demand for its specialty products and services.”
