Timmins Police Official-Badge

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a theft incident which occurred during the afternoon of September 19th at a west end retail outlet in Timmins.

The investigation centered on how two men entered the store and allegedly stole stereo equipment, a back pack, and packages of meat with a total value of nearly $250.00.

One of the suspects fled on foot, hid in a residential yard nearby and was located and arrested without incident by the Timmins Police Service a short while later.

The suspect is alleged to have initially provided a false name to the police upon being arrested.
As a result, Joseph STEED, 35, of Moose Factory, Ontario, has been charged with:

– One count of theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– One count of Personation With Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused person was held in police custody while awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at Provincial Court in Timmins.

The second suspect remains at large and is being sought by the Timmins Police Service.
