The remains of seven Canadians who died in the Ethiopian Airlines crash have been returned to the country, more than seven months after the disaster. The plane was flying to Kenya from Addis Ababa on March 10 when it went down, killing all 157 people on board including 18 Canadians.

One of those 18 Canadians on board was 25 year old Stephanie Lacroix who lived in Ottawa but was originally from Timmins. Lacroix had interned and worked for the United Nations and non-governmental organizations, and had recently started a new position with the United Nations Association in Canada and was on her way to attend the United Nations Environment Assembly conference in Nairobi.

Funeral mass for Stephanie will be held this Saturday, October 26th, 2019, at 10:30 at St-Dominique Parish, 365 Norman Street, followed by internment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery.  Donations can be made to the Fonds Humanitaire Stéphanie Lacroix Humanitarian Fund at https://stephanielacroix.squarespace.com/.  Online condolences can be made at www.lessardstephens.com.
