Every year, there are people who unfortunately do not have family members to take care of them, and they don’t get anything for Christmas.

“We decided to this this year, It’s called “Adopt a Senior initiative”  it’s for seniors in long term care homes. We wanted everyone to get a gift, and they don’t ask for much. Some of them ask for PJ’s, other’s ask for socks, suspenders, puppy pictures. It’s not that expensive to take part of the initiative. It’s something they need, a lot of them don’t have families that are there to buy them socks, or PJ’s, and they’re in there homes so, they can’t really go out on their own.” -Karine Giroux Recruiter at Plan A.

Like Giroux mentioned, not everyone is fortunate enough to receive gifts during the Holiday season so, if you want to make someone’s holiday a little brighter this season, all you have to do is buy what ever you would like to give a senior for Christmas and bring it to Plan A which is located at 273 Second Ave.

There are many ways that you can make a difference during the Holiday season and this is one way to do it. You have until December 16 to drop off your gifts.
