The Timmins Rock, swept their weekend road trip over the weekend taking down the Powassan Voodoos on Saturday January 11 4-1, and they beat the French River Rapids 6-2 on Sunday January 12.

Those two wins, boosted them up to the top of the NOJHL standings. The Rock have worked for most of the season trying to catch the Voodoos who at one point, were deemed untouchable. They have now reached the top of the mountain but their work isn’t done just yet.

After these two wins, the Rock not only took over first place but they also clinched a 4th straight playoff birth! Their work however, isn’t done just yet; There are 18 regular season games remaining in the regular season. The Rock will need to keep their foot on the pedal for the remainder of the season if they want home ice advantage for the playoffs.

In those 18 games the Rock will face the Voodoos four more times and will face the Hearst LumberJacks one more time!

The Rock are now rolling and will look to keep that roll going as the Playoffs are approaching at a quick pace. Their next game will be on home ice on Saturday January 18th against the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners. For tickets to the game you can head on over to TimminsRock.Com.
