The Timmins Rock, are still hanging onto first place in the NOJHL standings after winning one of their two games over the weekend.

The Rock, were taking on a red hot Powassan Voodoos squad as the Voodoos, had won three straight games.

As expected, the game on Saturday January 25th was a close one. Unfortunately for the Rock, the Puck didn’t bounce their way in the late minutes of the third period the Rock ended up taking a 1-0 loss.

Voodoos lone goal:

The Rock, then found themselves back in second place and that clearly didn’t sit right with them.

On Sunday January 26, the Rock were in French River to take on the Rapids and were looking to reclaim that number one spot. They did… well they are tied for it; The Rock won 4-1. The Goals came from: Stewart Parnell, Tyler Gilberds, Josh Dickson, and Phil Caron. Vance Meyer was between the pipes and managed to stop 27 of the 28 shots that the Rapids fired at them.

The Rock’s next game will be on Wednesday January 29th in Kirkland Lake as they get set to have another date with the Gold Miners. The Rock, will be back on home ice on Saturday February 1st when they host the Cochrane Crunch. Tickets for that game are available online at TimminsRock.Com.
