The following is a running list of essential services, public events, or organizations that have announced cancellations, closures or postponements due to COVID-19.

As of noon Friday, March 20, City Hall will be closed to public access.

The Cochrane Temiskaming Children’s Treatment Centre (CT CTC) has cancelled all client visits and direct services from March 19  until at least April 5. All CT CTC offices are closed at this time including locations in Timmins, Kapuskasing, North Cobalt, Kirkland Lake, Moosonee, Moose Factory. Staff are working remotely and phone messages can be left at 1-800 -575-3210.

Wood Family Locksmithing will be providing over the phone consult and scheduling services to the first week of April, approximately 12th of april. If earlier, they will advise.

The Porcupine Health Unit’s events, classes, home visits and community meetigns have been cancelled or postponed until further notice. Call 705-267-1181 or 1800-461-1818 for concerns or clarification.

The Timmins Symphony Orchestra’s April 4 concert is cancelled. All orchestra, chorus and adult band rehearsals have been suspended and the TSO Music School will cease operation until further notice.

The Timmins Stamp Club meeting scheduled for Sunday, March 22 at the Timmins Museum is cancelled.

The Timmins and District Multicultural Centre, local immigrant settlement service, and Timmins Local Immigration Partnership have closed their offices and moved their services online until further notice. Clients can connect with a settlement worker in Timmins by e-mailing kadetaylor@timminsmultitcultural.ca or calling 705-269-8622. All face-to-face appointments will be tentatively booked for a later date. Only Skype appointments will be possible until further notice.

North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) is minimizing person to-person contact by closing offices and cancelling non-essential programs.

The Porcupine Mines Safety Group is cancelling their safety leadership excellence event, scheduled for March 25.

The Timmins and District Humane Society is limiting public access to the building. More information on what this means for their services is available here.

Imagine Cinema 6 is closed and will re-open when it’s safe to do so.

The Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins’ office is closed until further notice, and upcoming events such as Seeds and Suds and Collective Cooking program are postponed. The closure does not affect Good Food Box deliveries. Staff are available during the week from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. by phone at 705-262-2499 or team@antihungercoalition.com.

The Women’s Information Network’s March 24 and April 21 meetings are cancelled.

Timmins and District Hospital is advising the public that we are increasing restrictions at the Hospital on the advice of provincial authorities. Hours will be restricted from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., only one visitor, age 18 or older, per patient at one time will be allowed, no visitors will be permitted in high-risk areas, i.e. isolated patients, Critical Care Unit, exceptions will be made in situations involving trauma and end of life, in consultation with the Manager of the Unit

The Golden Manor has suspended non-essential services and visits, in accordance with the recommendation of Ontario’s Medical Officer, Dr. David Williams.

All WW (formerly Weight Watchers) Meetings at Covenant United Church until Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

The Timmins Public Library branches are closed until further notice.

The Timmins Community Park Association’s Second Annual Family Skate day to be held at the Roy Nicholson Park on March 22, 2020 has been cancelled for this year.

Hollinger Dental will be closed until at least the first week of April.

GoodLife Fitness and Fit for less are closing all locations across Canada until further notice.

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) AGM and conference planned for Timmins May 13 – 15 is cancelled.

OLG has ordered all Ontario casinos to close, incuding those in Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury. Read more here.

Covenant United Church will be closing its doors until April 4. If you are in need of pastoral care leave a message at the office or contact Rev. Bill Jones.

YMCA Timmins child care centres and March Break camp are closing effective March 17, with the plans of re-opening April 6. The Poplar and Moore locations will be open Monday, March 16 to give families time to find alternative care.

The Archie Dillon Sportsplex Swimming Pool is closed to the public, and pool maintenance will be scheduled to fully take advantage of this downtime.

With the cancellations of hockey leagues and private booking, the City of Timmins has consolidated all remaining private bookings into the Archie Dillon arena. The ice is currently coming out of Whitney Arena and Mountjoy Arena, and the McIntyre Arena will follow suit later this week.

The Northern Ontario Handmade Market scheduled for April 4 at the McIntyre Ballroom is cancelled.

The McIntyre Curling Club is closed for the remainder of the season.

Porcupine United Church is closed until April 4. Pastor Brynn will be available by telephone, Facebook or email.

Art and Soul is closed until further notice, but private parties are still in place, at the discretion of the parents booking.

In Cochrane, the Tim Hortons Events Centre and library are closed to the public until April 5. More on how the municipality is responding to COVID-19 is available here.

Collège Boréal has suspended face-to-face post-secondary education classes, continuing education courses and language training at all its campuses, from Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20, inclusively. Other services are also affected. The College remains open and Boréal staff members should continue to report to work as usual, unless they present symptoms.

The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation’s spring gala scheduled for May 23 is cancelled.

Take Two Theatre has suspended all planned improv sessions until further notice.

The Science Timmins March Break Camp is cancelled. Science Village is also closed until further notice.

Timmins MPP Gilles Bisson’s free March Break skates are cancelled due to the “emergence of COVID-19 and the closure of schools until April 5.”

All publically funded schools in Ontario will be closed from March 14 to April 5

All Hockey Canada-sanctioned activities are cancelled effective Friday, March 13.

The Canadian Polar Bear Habitat will be closed to the public effective Saturday, March 14 to Sunday, April 5. According to their Facebook page, a decision to re-open will be made closer to April 5. You will still be able to check-in with Ganuk, Henry, Inukshuk, and Eddy on the livestream.

The Iroquois Falls Winter Carnival has been postponed until further notice.

The Timmins Rock Junior A Hockey Club’s season has ended. The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced March 13 that all hockey-related activities, including league playoffs, will not be held.

Special Olympics Ontario activities are suspended until March 31.

All programming, workshops and special events at the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition centre are suspended until further notice. It includes March Break programming, Digital Creator events, and the TSO music camp.
