**PORCUPINE HEALTH UNIT NEWS RELEASE**

DAILY COVID-19 UPDATE FOR THURSDAY, JUNE 4, 2020

There have been no new positive cases in the Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) area since May 10, 2020. The total number of confirmed positive cases is 65, 1 of which remains active. For more information, see phu.fyi/coronavirus.

The health unit is encouraging people to stay home as much as possible. Those who choose to head out camping or to their cottage are encouraged to only go with members of their household, bring food and supplies from home, remain in the PHU area if possible, maintain physical distancing, avoid visiting other cottages or hosting group events, return home if they start to feel unwell and be safe while out.

Any PHU resident who feels they need a test for COVID-19, even if they don’t have symptoms, can go for testing at an assessment centre. Call your health care provider or the health unit to access testing.

Continue with measures like physical distancing, wearing a face covering where physical distancing may be challenging, frequent handwashing and staying home when you are sick.

It is still important for you and your children to seek assessment and treatment for other physical and mental health concerns as needed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. While you may be concerned that leaving your home may put you at risk of getting COVID-19, rest assured that your health care provider will take all precautions possible to keep you safe from COVID-19 while still caring for your other health needs.

Our COVID-19 Information line is open today from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call the toll-free number, 1-800-461-1818, or the PHU office in your community. See phu.fyi/offices for local contact numbers.

Stay home if you are not well. Stay safe. Stay positive!
