conservative canadaIt’s been a few days since a historic 11-week federal election campaign started, and the three main parties are scrambling to fill nomination voids.

One of those holes is the Conservative nod in Timmins-James Bay, but Riding Association President Steve Kidd says they’re actually right on schedule in their nomination process.

“Likely within a week,” he said on a timeline to announce a candidate.

Kidd says it’s not unusual at this stage not to have a candidate in place, pointing out the 140 vacancies among Liberals, Conservatives and NDP across Canada.

Whomever is selected will go up against incumbent MP Charlie Angus (NDP), Todd Lever (Liberal) and Max Kennedy (Green).
