OPPMembers of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two men with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Trafficking in a controlled substance.

The charges stem from a commercial motor vehicle stop on Highway 11, Eby Township. The subsequent investigation led to the seizure of six hundred and eighty one pounds of cannabis marihuana with an estimated value of $1.7-million.

The incident occurred at approximately 01:54 a.m. on July 14, 2015. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of members of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and the OPP Canine Unit.

Charged are Marius PREDA age 46 of Barrie, Ontario and Lucian TOC age 42 of Okotoks, Alberta. The two men accused were remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
