Mattagami Waste Water Plant construction closes Airport Road

For the next two weeks, it might be best to avoid Airport Road.

The city has closed the road between Lamminen and River Park Road until Friday, July 24th for road work.

Manager of Public Works Steve Kukulka says the work involves constructing new water and sewer lines for the $80-million Mattagami Waste Water Plant.

He says the road could open earlier than expected.

To get around the closure, you can go around via Lamminen, Suzanne Street and River Park.

Construction continues on the plant, and is expected to be complete in September.

Officials recently presented to council, saying construction is 90% complete and remains on budget.
