Timmins’ own Alicia Blomberg was a force to be reckoned with in Switzerland this past week.

She captured Tournament MVP, but more importantly, led Team Canada to Gold at the Women’s World Ball Hockey Championships following a 5-1 win over the Czech Republic Sunday afternoon.

Blomberg had a goal and two helpers in the decisive game.

Canada went 7-0 throughout the tournament, outscoring their competition by a combined 43-7.
