The Timmins Fireworks Festival Committee is excited to announce the support and participation of several local businesses for the upcoming eight-day festival celebrating Ontario 150 and Canada 150.

Cedar Meadows Resort and Spa, Comfort Inn, Days Inn and Conference Center, Hampton Inn by Hilton, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Microtel Inn & Suites, Ramada Inn, and Super 8 will be allowing the Festival Committee to host the participants of the festival free of charge, which will help ensure the committee is capable of maximizing its entertainment budget.

“We are extremely happy to see such wide-spread support from the local hotels, and look forward to working with them to provide great quality accommodation to the participants,” said Mayor Steve Black.
The Timmins Daily Press has also jumped on board as a title sponsor for Team U.K – Titanium Fireworks, Cambridge, England on Friday, June 30, in an agreement that will see over $55,000 worth of advertising hitting markets in Timmins, Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie, North Bay, Orillia, Kirkland Lake, Kapuskasing, Cochrane, Espanola and Elliot Lake.

“We are also thrilled to have the Timmins Daily Press on board as a promotional partner and title sponsor for one of the eight nights of fireworks,” continued Mayor Black. “Through their great local coverage and coverage through their affiliates, we will be able to reach markets across Northern Ontario and promote the festival and ticket sales. This partnership will ensure we are able to broadly market the festival within budget.”

The Centre Culturel LaRonde and partners have also committed to sponsoring the first night of fireworks on St Jean Baptiste Day – Saturday, June 24. Their commitment of $25,000 has them slated as title sponsor for Team France – Féérie Feux D’Artifices, Saint-Herblain, France. This contribution will also allow the committee to provide a great day, featuring francophone cultural activities leading up to a spectacular night of entertainment.

Goldcorp – Porcupine Gold Mines has also committed their support as an event sponsor by providing the use of the Hollinger Berm to launch fireworks throughout the week-long celebration.

“We are hopeful to have a second round of sponsors to announce in the coming week as we are currently in discussion with the group of companies led by Paul Woodward, who have been a successful part of Canada Day fireworks for the past couple of years,” said Mayor Black. “We are also talking with additional promotional partners, firework sponsors, and looking at confirming a title sponsor for the event. The amount of support and interest from the community has been incredible!”
