Local students and MRCA partner up for bird house initiative (VIDEO)

Local birds are benefiting from the hard work of some Grade 4 students at Don Bosco.

The kids are building bird houses, which are set up around Hersey Lake.  MRCA General Manager David Vallier says partnerships like this help out quite a bit.

For the students, teacher Michele Lepage says it gives students an opportunity to learn something more hands-on.

She says this is part of a math course.  Students were able to go out with their parents after a recent wind storm to collect fallen branches to put the houses together.
