Dube Designs ring cutters ($456 gic)_May 27, 2015Jackie Dubé, Owner, Dubé Designs, attended Timmins & District Hospital recently to deliver on a promise made in February during the KiSS Minutes Matter Radiothon.

The event raised funds for much-needed medical equipment for the Emergency Department at Timmins and District Hospital.

During the day-long radiothon, listeners heard various testimonials and interviews with physicians and nurses who provide care in the ER.

Dr. Loreto, ER Physician, shared a story of having to “MacGyver” something in order to remove a titanium ring from a patient’s hand because they simply did not have the proper equipment to do so.

Although the ER had ring cutters at the time, none of them worked on titanium, which has become a very popular choice for men’s rings.

Having heard that story broadcast on the radio during the fundraiser, Marc and Jackie Dubé, owners of Dubé Designs, called into one of our donation lines to make their unique pledge.  The jewellery company pledged to donate ring cutters for the ER and boy did they deliver.

On May 27, Jackie Dubé delivered the ring cutters to the ER and presented them to Dr. Trevor Harterre, ER Physician and Janna Burke, Executive Director, TADH Foundation.  We are now equipped with ring cutters that can cut through all metals, thus providing the best care possible to our patients.

The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation is extremely grateful to the Jackie and Marc Dubé for this unique donation and for their generosity throughout the years with countless in-kind donations for Foundation fundraising events.
