Gilles_BissonQueen’s Park has powered down for the summer.

Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson says overall, it’s been an interesting year with the Liberals in power.

“The government presented itself in the last election as being left-of-centre,” he said, “They were going to, as they said, govern from the progressive centre; they were going to be transparent and open and since Kathleen Wynne has got a majority government, she’s been acting exactly the opposite.”

He mentioned how the Liberals took away public oversight on Hydro One, and has essentially closed it down to be a “closed-door operation.”

The sale of 60% of Hydro One turned into the big issue on the year, one that’s still talked about to this day.

Bisson says plain and simple, the utility belongs to the people of Ontario and thus, they should have their say.

He says the Liberals voted against the NDP bill to hold a referendum, but that won’t stop them from going around the province this summer to give the public a say in the matter.
