Don’t park your car on the street overnight, the winter parking ban is now in effect for Timmins.

The city says until April 30th, “any vehicle parked on the street between the hours of 11:30 PM and 7:30 AM will be subject to a $50 fine and the vehicle may be towed at the expense of the owner (unless you are in an area exempt from the winter parking ban, in which case, signs would be posted stating such).”

Public Works regularly performs snow removal during the winter months, and the city says they give enough notice by posting yellow and red signs.

The city added: “IMPORTANT: Please do not expect a knock at your door to advise of winter road maintenance, the signs posted will be considered sufficient notice. Look for signs posted on your street to ensure parking has not been restricted in your area. Fines and towing charges are costly and avoidable.”
