It’s pretty much a formality at this point, but Sk8te Hollinger officials will have to wait a week for formal approval to get city help on this year’s track at Hollinger Park.

Ken Pye, the mastermind behind last year’s figure-8 track, went to Timmins city council to request they cover half the cost to operate the venture.

The request is for $32,250.

Pye says based on the success of last year, they have an extra trailer for patrons to change into skates.  The trailer itself won’t factor into the cost, as it was donated.

Pye says he’d like to take advantage of the weather to get electrical work done early on and thus, will come back next week.
