A declining moose population didn’t stop a poacher from killing a pregnant cow moose

The MNRF’s Staff Sergeant/Area Enforcement Manager Denis Beauvais says it happened along Kamiskotia Road around 7am on the morning of April 29th, 2015

You could have important information and not even know it. Beauvais explains what kind of specific information will help bring this illegal hunter to justice …

The moose appeared to be bleeding from its neck and was unable to stand up.

There was no choice but to euthanize the moose because of the severity of its wound.  Furthermore, the calf fetus died because it had not developed enough to survive.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact the MNRF TIPS line at 1-877-847-7667 toll-free any time, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also call the ministry’s Timmins district office during regular business hours at 705-235-1300.
