The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a disturbance which took place on Saturday evening (Nov 26th) at the McIntyre Arena in Schumacher.

During the course of the NOJHL game between the Timmins Rock and the Powassan Voodoos, a man is alleged to have become openly belligerent and began shouting profanities at the players and the referees.

At one point the game was halted to have the man’s comportment addressed by means of a game ejection issued by the referee.

The man is further alleged to have refused to comply with the ejection.

Despite physically resisting the officers, the man was eventually removed from the arena by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Todd LEVER, 41, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • One count of Cause a Disturbance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Resist Peace officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released from police custody on a Promise to Appear requiring that he attend Provincial Court in Timmins on January 10th to answer to the charges laid against him.
