Angus reacts to released federal budget

The federal government is out of the red.

The budget will run a surplus of $1.4-billion this year, but Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus (NDP) says that’s because the feds sold off “everything but the kitchen sink.”

He adds the budget is late by about two months because the Conservatives miscalculated their numbers, and that this is indeed an “election budget.”

Angus also points out a few NDP initiatives that are entrenched in the numbers.

Angus says the Conservatives are “obviously feeling the political heat,” and the NDP are ready in this election year.
