Supreme Court rules on council prayers

A recent Supreme Court of Canada ruling could have an impact in Timmins.

They ruled the town council in Saguenay, Quebec cannot open it’s meetings with a prayer, as it infringes on freedom of conscience and religion.

This case has been in the courts for the last eight years.

No word on if this is a Canada-wide ruling, and Timmins Mayor Steve Black says they will look into it before deciding what they will do.
