Many tough decisions lie ahead for this 2017 city budget.

The first draft of it was revealed publicly this past Monday, set with a requested budget increase around $3.3 million dollars.

And that doesn’t include a number of things, including all the council requests made at their meeting in early October.

Councillor Pat Bamford suggested with spending needed in a number of departments, that the council wish list be put on hold.

Other things not considered in the first draft include municipal assessments (based on 2016 figures), weighted distribution of Cochrane DSSAB not received and the 1.76% increase to non-union salaries.

There’s also the request from Councillor Rick Dubeau for a 2% decrease.
