Northern Ontario's flexing its muscle at the Prospectors and Developers Convention

Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus and MPP Gilles Bisson are attending the Prospectors and Developers Convention in Toronto. They are meeting industry players and supporting the large team of North Ontario businesses.

Angus says Canada has immense natural resource potential but we have to move beyond the Conservatives ‘rip it out of the ground and ship it overseas’ mentality.

“New Democrats understand that we can stimulate growth in the sector while ensuring long-term and sustainable vision for our country.”

Angus adds, the international market is also buzzing around the region.

“We’re known in the international community. There’s still interest even with the drop in commodity prices.  I’ve spoken to a few international investors already who are very interested in some project near the Timmins region.”
