The Timmins Police Service is in the midst of completing its investigation into two robberies which occurred on Monday, February 13th, in the city of Timmins.

A robbery occurred at the Mac’s Milk variety store on Dwyer Avenue in Schumacher where a male suspect wearing a disguise made off with merchandise and an undisclosed amount of cash.

A second robbery, committed in the same manner, occurred a short while later at the Chevy’s Bait variety store on King Street in Porcupine.

The suspect was described as a male party with a thin build wearing a black “snow boarder” style jacket with white vertical stripes and a scripted logo on the front along with a dark backpack and a light green scarf covering his face.

Based on the comprehensive investigation undertaken by the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Peter ALBERT, 32, of Timmins has been arrested and charged with:

  • Two counts of Robbery contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of Use Disguise With Intent to Commit Indictable Offence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The charged person remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
