timminspolice logoOver the weekend, Timmins Police officers responded to more than 200 calls for service. Those included 43 traffic enforcements, 15 police assistance calls, 14 motor vehicle collisions, 10 domestic disputes, 9 suspicious persons calls, 7 disturbances, 5 thefts and 4 assault incidents.

On February 6, 2016, officers were also involved in a suspect apprehension pursuit.

At approximately 4:15 p.m., police were searching for an individual in relation to a previous incident. Police located the individual driving a vehicle, and attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Lafleur Drive and Norman Street, however the traffic stop was unsuccessful as the driver accelerated in an attempt to flee from police.

Several attempts to stop the vehicle in question were made by police, while keeping public safety and the safety of all other drivers a top priority. Throughout the pursuit, the driver continued to display dangerous driving behaviour, travelling at high speeds and disobeying traffic signs and signals. The driver was located at a residence a short time later and placed under arrest.

As a result of this incident, Bradley DUBOIS, 26, of Timmins faces charges of:

  • Flight while being pursued by Peace Officer (Sec. 249.1(1), Criminal Code of Canada)
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle (Sec. 249.1(1)(a), Criminal Code of Canada)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (Sec. 733.1(1), Criminal Code of Canada)

He was held pending a bail hearing scheduled for today, February 8, 2016.
