The non-profit Timmins Festivals and Events Committee (TFEC) are excited to announce the band line up for the second annual TFEC’s Epic Band Battle, held April 8th at the McIntyre Curling Club.

The fundraising event for this summers Rock On The River Festival will see ten bands competing on two stages for a cash prize and a spot on the main stage of this years Rock On The River. Growing in size from last years Epic Band Battle, this year saw bands competing in preliminary qualifying rounds in late February and early March at The Working Class and The Victory Tavern with the top ten bands from TFEC’s panel of judges making it on to Aprils event.

The line up is as follows:

  • Blackwood Sinners (Sudbury)
  • Fortunate Losers (Sudbury)
  • Johnny Rubber Leggz (Timmins)
  • Dopamine (Timmins)
  • Punktual Alcoholics (Timmins)
  • The Payoff (Timmins)
  • The Twentiest (Sudbury)
  • Rough Outlook (Timmins)
  • Half Measures (Timmins)
  • One Inch Speaker (Timmins).

We are pleased to note 8/10 bands did not compete last year. Also looking at the amount of bands coming from out of town make this event a very encouraging thing to see for Timmins’ musical community! The Epic Band Battle, boasting a wide mix of music genres, is sure to be a crowd pleaser with something for everybody. Also back by popular demand is the Acoustic Lounge; a spot where you can listen to some relaxing acoustic players if you want a break from the show.

Tickets are available now for $30 online at TimminsFestivals.com or at Ray Perrier Music with more ticket sale locations coming soon. The first 200 tickets sold get theirs for $25. 100% of proceeds will be directed into this summers Rock On The River Festival. Along with your ticket, you will also get a ballot to vote for your favorite band, making the audience a vital part of the show.

An announcement concerning a show headliner (while votes are being tallied) as well as artists for the Acoustic Lounge will be made in the near future.

Any businesses looking to get involved in the fundraiser or people looking to volunteer at the concert are asked to email TimminsFestivals@gmail.com.
