There could be a rock solid argument for using concrete instead of asphalt on area roads.

Sherry Sullivan from the Cement Association of Canada suggests that opening up bids for road work to include concrete options could drive up competition between companies and save the city a few dollars.

She adds concrete-made highways use 73 per cent less aggregate than asphalt.
