Over the month of April, six individuals were charged by Timmins Police Service officers for impaired driving offences. Keeping in mind that the ultimate goal is zero, this number is unacceptable and disconcerting as it relates to the safety and security of our community.

On April 14, at approximately 1:00 a.m., police witnessed erratic driving behavior and initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking to the driver of the vehicle, officers noted signs of impairment. Following an investigation, Alexander Rumball, 23, of Iroquois Falls, was charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with More than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

On April 15, at approximately 2:30 a.m., police witnessed suspicious driving behavior and initiated a traffic stop. Upon further investigation, officers noted signs of impairment in the driver. Following their investigation, police charged Marybeth Pablo, 28, of Toronto, with Driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

On April 16, at approximately 2:40 a.m., police conducted an impairment check on a driver. While speaking to the driver, police noted signs of impairment. Following an investigation, Abdismad Ibrahim, 38, of Ottawa was charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

On April 20, at approximately 9:15 a.m., police received a report of a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle, and spoke to the driver, who exhibited signs of intoxication. Following an investigation, Marina Riordan, 67, of Timmins was charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

On April 22, at approximately 8:40 p.m., police received information regarding a possible impaired driver. Reports indicated that this driver was operating a tow truck. Police located the vehicle in question and initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking to police, the driver exhibited signs of impairment. Following their investigation, police charged Charles Benson, 55, of Timmins with Impaired Driving, and Driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

On April 23, at approximately 1:55 a.m., police observed a vehicle operating with no tail lights. Upon conducting a traffic stop and speaking to the driver of the vehicle, officers noted signs of impairment. Following an investigation by police, Tory Martin, 26, of Timmins was charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

All individuals listed were released on Promises to Appear with a court date of May 9, 2017.

The Timmins Police Service reminds the public to call 9-1-1 if they suspect an impaired driver may be on the road.
