After an investigation that began in February, a Timmins man is facing 12 child pornography-related charges.

Police say the investigation started after an underage girl reported “the distribution of intimate images and videos by her former partner without her consent.”

The release also states that the accused allegedly sent the victim, her family and friends “repeated, harassing and damaging messages.”

The 39-year old was not named by police to keep in their policy of protecting the victim’s identity,

The man was charged with the following:

  • Making of child pornography
  • Possession of child pornography
  • Harassing Communications
  • Criminal Harassment: Repeatedly Communicate
  • Distribution of an Intimate Image without Consent
  • Identity Fraud with Intent to Cause Disadvantage
  • Defamatory Libel
  • Mischief to Computer Data to Destroy or Alter
  • Mischief to Computer Data to Obstruct, Interrupt, Interfere person of Lawful Use/Denies Access of Computer Data
  • Unauthorized use of Computer to Destroy Data
  • Unauthorized use of Computer to Obtain Computer Service
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance

The investigation was done by the Timmins Police Criminal Investigation Section, uniform patrol officers and Forensic Identification Units.
