Timmins_Police_Service_logo_updDespite winter driving conditions and recent snowfalls, some local drivers continue to exhibit driving behaviours which are inconsistent with the road conditions.

On January 19, 2016, 16 traffic enforcement incidents were recorded on Timmins roads. Of those, four drivers received tickets for speeding in the area of Highway 101 alone. Three of those were issued in the area of Rae Hill. Police remind drivers that posted speed limits are set for ideal road conditions, and that speeds must be adjusted for snow covered or icy roads.

Drivers are also reminded that vehicles must be cleared of snow. Windshields, side and rear windows must be free of snow and license plates, head lights and tail lights must be visible. Drivers who fail to do so could face charges under the Highway Traffic Act including failure to afford clear view, obscured number plate, and lamps not clearly visible.

Please drive with caution at all times to ensure local roads remain safe for all those who use them.
