Drug and weapons-related charges were handed down to two Timmins residents.

Timmins Police state in a release 37-year old Josephine Spence and 34-year old Darren Sutherland were both arrested after a search warrant was executed at a Timmins home Thursday afternoon just after 3pm.

The Drug Enforcement Unit, the Criminal Investigations Section and uniformed officers all contributed.

As part of the search, police found and seized “96 methamphetamine tablets, 1/3 patch and 25 strips of Fentanyl, as well as brass knuckles and ‘ninja throwing stars’.”

They say the street value of the seized items are valued at around $2,000. About $380 in Canadian dollars was also seized.

The two residents face charges of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (x2), and Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon (x2).

Both were released on promises to appear with a court date scheduled for July 25.
