Timmins United (5-0) and Restore Physiotherapy Pandas (3-0-1) sit atop the Timmins Men’s and Women’s Soccer standings respectively coming into the new week.

The Pandas nabbed a trio of clean sheets in the last seven days.

On Monday, they blanked Rehab Plus 2-0 and then on Wednesday, it was a more comfortable 4-0 victory over Tisdale Plumbing and Heating/Eclipse Financial.

24 hours later, the team in white edged Porcupine Kinsmen 1-0.

Looking at other TWSC action this week, Porcupine Kinsmen played to a 0-0 draw with East End Construction Monday.

And the Timmins Terminators were shutout in two games.  First, it was a 1-0 loss Wednesday to Rehab Plus.  Then on Thursday, a 4-0 loss to the Dunrite Rubber Wolfpack.

The Pandas hold top spot with 10 points. The Wolfpack and Rehab Plus are tied for second with six points each.

On the men’s side, TUFC got a pair of wins.  On Tuesday, they edged the Rebels 2-1 and then Sunday, took down a tired Hearst squad 7-1.

Hearst played two games in a row Sunday.  In their first contest, they beat the winless Gunners FC 4-1.

The Gunners were also in action Thursday, losing 5-1 to Blizzard.

It was part of a two-win week for the Blizzard squad, as they shutout Let’s Try Soccer Again 3-0 on Tuesday.

TUFC, with 15 points, handily lead TMLS. The Rebels, Hearst and Blizzard each hold claim to second place with six points each.

Action resumes tonight with two games in the women’s division.

Also this week will be the Men’s and Women’s league-wide “Day of Soccer,” a marathon of games in both divisions this Saturday, starting at 10am from Timmins High and Vocational School and runs until around 7pm.
