Blood services say need upgraded to "critical"

Next week’s blood donor clinic is a crucial one, according to Canadian Blood Services.

They say their need for blood has been “upgraded to critical” ahead of their monthly clinic in Timmins. They say there are over 100 openings for the June 21st that need to be filled to help meet patient needs.

“One-in-two Canadians will need blood at some point in their life, yet less than 4% of the population donates,” they say in an email to local media, “On behalf of hospital patients, we are asking all eligible residents of Timmins to roll up their sleeves to donate blood.”
