The Stars and Thunder Festival has been the talk of the town for the last few days.

What with all the artists putting on incredible performances and seeing some fireworks go off in the sky. Not in the last couple nights though, as windy conditions has halted Team Finland’s fireworks display.

That is just one of a few things organizers have had to look into and make alternatives with.

Timmins Mayor Steve Black says whenever there’s been a problem presented, they’ve been able to accommodate. Whether that be an extra entrance way to the VIP section, or adding stage left as a standing side for fans that want to jump around.

That’s something both sides were doing anyway with the encouragement of Day 4s main event: Simple Plan.

The multi-talented Timmins-born singer Lights performed her first show in 15 months to the delight of everyone in attendance. Goliath and Bayla also thrilled crowds with their shows earlier in the day.

Unfortunately, the first fireworks cancellation have resulted in Team UK dropping out of the competition. The UK were slated to go Friday night.

Now with a second cancellation, it could spell the end for Team Brazil. Brazil was on the schedule for Thursday night.

LOOKING AHEAD
Rogers Radio Timmins are the official named sponsor for Day 5 of the festival. Static Sound, The Superlative, Jonathan Rosa, Alyssa Reid and Hedley are slated to play.

Pending further weather woes, Team Finland is still on tap to go next for their fireworks display.
