A ground search for a missing Timmins man has been suspended, pending further investigation.

Timmins Police say despite efforts by members of their Emergency Response Team, as well as members of Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue and Ontario Provincial Police—including their helicopter and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle—the search on Friday and Saturday turned up negative results for 44-year old Christopher Rivers.

Rivers was last seen on August 29th and the car he was believed to be driving was found abandoned off Murphy Road in the northeast end of the city.

The 44-year old is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 5’10” tall, and 190 lbs, with a medium build. He has light brown hair, blue eyes and described as having unshaven facial hair.

The investigation is ongoing.
