Timmins Police had to utilize a taser in an arrest Friday afternoon involving a stolen TPS vehicle.

Police responded to a call around 3:15pm about a suspicious person.

They say during the course of the call, a police vehicle was stolen. With help from the Ontario Provincial Police, the vehicle was located near Norman Street and Lafleur Blvd.

“The suspect was arrested via high-risk take down, with a Conductive Energy Weapon being deployed in order to gain compliance safely,” police say in a release

There were no injuries throughout the incident, which remains under investigation.

Charges are pending against the accused, who was not named.
