Hydro One’s new Ombudsman is looking to set to the record straight with a visit the Timmins.

Fiona Crean says there’s plenty of misconception surrounding her new title.

“My role is required under the Provincial Electricity Act. I’m appointed and fired or anything else by the Hydro One board of directors not the provincial government.  That’s part of partial privatization.  I’m an arms-length ombudsman with the company.  It’s a very similar structure to the the Ontario Ombudsman who reports to the Legislature not the Ministries.”

This is week two of Crean’s tour of duty and she’ll be touring the province to educate you on what an ombudsman is and what she can and can’t do.

Crean’s expecting to visit the area by the end of April and meet with local stakeholders to give a fresher perspective of her new title.
