Snowmobile trail may close after this weekend

Could snowmobile season be coming to an end this weekend?

President of the Timmins Snowmobile Club, Raymond Corbeil says the recent warmth and rain is wreaking havoc on the trails.

Corbeil says the groomer hasn’t been passed in some time because of the lack of snow the area’s received.

He says highway crossings are deteriorating fast and lake and river crossings are too unpredictable to drive safely on.  Corbeil adds,the OFSC and local snowmobile club may be forced to close the trails as early as this weekend.
