As the calendar turns to November, the ban on overnight parking is coming into effect.

From now until April 30th, 2018, those parking on the street from 11:30pm to 7:30am will be subject to a $50 fine. The city says the vehicle “may be towed at the expense of the owner (unless you are in an area exempt from the winter parking ban, in which case, signs would be posted stating such).”

In addition, the city wants to remind residents about regular snow removal services.

“It is important that you ensure your vehicle is not on the street when winter road maintenance signs (yellow and red in color) are posted,” they state in a release, “Any vehicle found interfering with snow removal will be subject to a $50 fine and the vehicle may be towed at the expense of the owner.”

They say signs are sufficient enough notice and “do not expect a knock at your door.”

“Look for signs posted on your street to ensure parking has not been restricted in your area. Fines and towing charges are costly and avoidable.”
