Federal Government begins process for inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women

Over the next two months, the federal government will be building towards a federal inquiry into missing and murdered Aboriginal women.

The Timmins Native Friendship Centre says this is long overdue, but very welcomed by the centre and by those personally connected to the tragedy.

Director Veronica Nicholson says speaking with the families who have been affected by the tragedies is the right place to start;

She adds they will work closely with the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres to help in anyway they can.
