March 28, 2018 Timmins, On – Please attend a blood donor clinic in honour of Owen Fodchuk who received his first heart surgery before he was born at 25 weeks gestation.

Because of many surgeries and low hemoglobin, Owen received 19 blood transfusions, enabling him to survive and fight his ongoing battle with Congenital Heart Disease. “Without blood donations, children like Owen and others who are fighting big battles would not be able to survive.”  says mom Grace Fodchuk.  

“On May 7th, 2018, Owen will be heading into another heart catheterization and will likely need more lifesaving blood” says Fodchuk.  “We are looking forward to Owen’s big 4th birthday party in July, just before he heads into his next open heart surgery in the fall of this year”.

“Thank you to everyone who donates blood.” says Grace Fodchuk  “You are making a huge difference in the lives of hospital patients like Owen. The gift of blood is the gift of life”.

Easter Monday, April 2nd (4pm-8pm), April 3rd (11:30am-2:30pm & 4pm-8pm) or April 4th (11am-2pm) at the Timmins blood donor clinic, St. Dominique Church Hall, 720 Park.
