The Timmins Police Service is completing its investigation into a commercial break-in at a local retailer where over $17,000 worth of recreational vehicles and equipment was stolen.

The break-in occurred overnight and was discovered Friday morning of last week (15 July).

The investigation required the involvement of Timmins Police patrol officers, Scenes of Crime Officers, the Forensic Identification Section and Criminal Investigations Division.

While the investigation is still on going, to date the Timmins Police Service has recovered 3 stolen motorcycles, and a stolen snowmobile, all allegedly taken from the local retailer during the break-in with a combined value of $15,200.

During the course of the investigation, a quantity of Controlled Substance was located and seized as evidence as well.

The Timmins Police have charged Benjamin James MOYLE, 34, of Timmins with one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

MOYLE was arrested and has been released on a Promise to Appear requiring that he attend Provincial Court on August 30th to answer to the charge laid against him.

The Timmins Police have also charged Ryan McINNIS, 37, of Timmins with one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

McINNIS was arrested and has been released on a Promise To Appear requiring that he attend Provincial Court on August 30th to answer to the charge laid against him.

The Timmins Police have also charged Alberto Ricardo TOMAGATICK, 34, of Timmins with:

  • One count of Break and Enter and Commit Indictable Offence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Trafficking in Stolen Goods – Over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of
    Canada

TOMAGATICK was arrested and has been released on a Promise to Appear requiring that he attend Provincial Court on August 30th to answer to the charge laid against him.

All the stolen property, with the exception of the outboard motor, has been recovered by the Timmins Police Service. The outboard motor, a 1994 Mercury 20 horsepower model is still considered to be stolen property.
