**TFEC MEDIA RELEASE**

Saturday, July 28th, Billy Talent will be taking the main stage at the Participark in Timmins, along with Death From Above, Bleeker, The Motorleague, and maybe even YOU!

We’ve got one spot left on the main stage for a local / regional act, and have decided to let our attendees choose who should get it – Sign up now for Gimme The Gig!

What is Gimme The Gig?

TFEC’s Gimme The Gig is a fan voted contest in partnership with 92.1 ROCK FM. Each week two bands will go head to head in a bracket elimination contest until we have a winner. Each week will only have two options for people to vote on, so even if you don’t have a HUGE Timmins following we encourage you to apply – it’s not a popularity contest. We want to promote your work and have our attendees choose based on that alone.

How many bands will be in the contest?

Eight (8) bands will be chosen from across Northern Ontario to participate. TFEC will narrow it down to the final eight.

What do we get if we win?

1st place – Exposure.

Just kidding, you’ll open the main stage for Billy Talent and get PAID! You will also be treated like Rock Stars and appear on future promotional material for the Festival. We can’t promise any M&M’s backstage, but we’ll try.

2nd place – Close the Northern Roots side stage on Saturday night and be PAID!

– A link to your music, of course (videos of you playing live are great)
– Social Media links
– Anything else you think might help you land the gig!
