So far this year’s Stars and Thunder festival has seen more numbers in terms of crowds and ticket sales compared to its first year in 2017.

For audience numbers, Day 1 of the festival saw 3,351 people at Hollinger Park for St. Jean Baptiste Day, which is up from the previous year’s 2,219.

On Day 2 of the festival, about 5,500 people came to see Colin James and Blue Rodeo perform.

Tickets sales at the gate have been higher as well.

Last year, about $91,600 was spent on Day 1 and 2 ticket sales at the front gate.

This year, Day 1 and 2 ticket sales increased to $171,000; that’s almost double last year’s numbers in the first two days.

Tonight, for Day 3 of the festival, Virginia to Vegas takes the stage, followed by crowd favorite Mariana’s Trench. Those groups alone should help keep those numbers rising.
