It was another sunny day for festival goers at Hollinger Park yesterday as Day 4 of Stars and Thunder got underway shortly after gates opened at 3 PM.

Crowds lined up early to get good spots near the stage, and some eager festival-goers spoke with KiSS 99.3’s Mark Kinsman about how they’re enjoying the festival so far, and who they’re excited to see. You can watch that here.

Mark Kinsman also caught up with a festival-darling: Peighton Mahoney-Theriault. She’s been in the front row of every show at the festival so far, and she’s got the autographs to prove it. You can watch Mark’s interview with Peighton here.

The performances got off to an acoustic start for Day 4; Local guitar player Eugenio Jedi Martinez brought his three-neck, 25-string guitar onstage and showed off his skills with string instruments for the crowd. Martinez’s wife and son were proudly watching from the front row.

Johnson’s Creek took to the stage next and they put on a great show for the crowd. Mark Kinsman interviewed the band shortly before they went on stage. You can watch that interview here.

Fans then cheered on Trooper, one of Canada’s most popular and iconic bands. Even Sloan’s Chris Murphy was star-struck; he talked to Mark Kinsman before Sloan performed, and praised the city and the festival for getting so many great Canadian musicians together. You can watch that interview here. Chris Murphy got to play with Trooper on stage for awhile; they sang Raise a Little Hell.

The big headliner of the night was Burton Cummings and his band. The Canadian rock ‘n’ roll star made one of his first public appearances after suffering a concussion and minor injuries from a serious car accident in May. The crowd went wild for Cummings, who got everyone on their feet, enjoying the final act of the night as the sun set on Hollinger Park.

The daily United Way 50/50 Draw brought in more than $16,000 last night. The next draw will be tonight, after the final performance.

There’s more in store today, for Day 5 of the festival. Country music is the theme of the night, and festival-goers can enjoy performances by Aaron Goodvin, Lindsay Ell, and Gord Bamford. All that and more tonight, on Day 5 of Stars and Thunder.
